I absolutely love making 3D projects. Sometimes I think my brain thinks in 3D, as I find these type of projects easier to make than a card. Although, I do love making cards, too.
The inspiration for this “Treat Book” was the old Holiday Book of LifeSavers my mom used to get for our Christmas stocking. Today’s Holiday book of LifeSavers is single-sided and only has one flavor, FiveFlavors. The old Holiday Book of LifeSavers had two sides. Each side had five different flavor rolls on each side. If I remember correctly, the flavors were Wild Cherry, Butter Rum, Five Flavors, Pep O Mint, Wint O Green. YUM! What great special childhood Christmas memories.
I made my Treat Book for Stampin’ Up! #OnstageHartford general swaps this past weekend. The Treat Book holds a small peppermint patty on each side. It was a fun, unique project to create and share.
Directions to create the Treat Book.
You will need a piece of cardstock cut to 5″ by 11 1/2″
Score the 5″ side at:
1/2″, 1 1/2″, 3 1/2″ and 4 1/2″
Score the 11 1/2″ side at:
1/4″, 3/4″, 2 3/4″, 3 1/4″, 5 1/4″, 6 1/4″, 8 1/4″, 8 3/4″, 10 3/4″ and 11 1/4″
Burnish your score lines and cut as shown below:
Each of the two 1/4″ ends will be adhered to the 5 1/4″ and 6 1/4″ score lines. This will make a small box on each side. This is where you can put a small peppermint patty. The small tabs fold in and the 1/2″ end tabs tuck in to close the box. See the image below.
I hope you enjoy the Treat Book. Let me know if you try my creation.
Enjoy your day and be safe!
